Importance of Healthy Balanced Meals in Schools

A healthy balanced meal ensures that students can get enough nutrition throughout the day of learning. It can help develop a student’s eating habits and it can also serve as a healthy diet to avoid obesity rates and poor health. Thus, it promotes a healthier environment in schools where even those with illnesses/diseases that have a lot of prohibited food will still have a choice of food within the school.


Teenagers' nutritional status has a significant impact on their maturity and mental capabilities. A proper balance of protein, fat, complex carbohydrate and fiber can boost their reasoning and perceptual skills, leading to improved cognitive skills as they mature. Healthy students have more self-esteem, build stronger relationships with their peers, and participate in more social activities. Poor nutrition and imbalanced meals, on the other hand, are contributors to chronic health problems.
